About me
Hi, I’m Noah. I’m a professor of finance at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. I hold the Gregg T. and Judith A. Summerville Chair of Finance, and am currently serving as chair of the Kelley Doctoral Programs.
I earned a PhD from the University of Michigan in 2008 and did my undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto.
Here are two quotes I enjoy:
“He was one of those deep ones who know about stocks and shares. Of course no one really knows, but he quite seemed to know, and he often said stocks were up and shares were down in a way that would have made any woman respect him.” —J. M. Barrie, Peter Pan
The two greatest inventions of the human mind are writing and money—the common language of intelligence, and the common language of self-interest. —Victor Riqueti, marquis de Mirabeau
By the way, I have been using emdashes long before ChatGPT ever did. And—in contrast to the NYT—I am a devoted user of the Oxford Comma.
